Danelo Cavalcante Escapes Chester County Prison – $10,000 Reward Offered 

Cavalcante was convicted of first-degree murder on Aug. 16 for fatally stabbing his 33-year-old former girlfriend in April 2021. 

A convicted murderer who escaped a Pennsylvania prison Thursday was spotted on a surveillance camera in the area, according to local officials. 

Danelo Cavalcante, 34, broke out of the Chester County Prison, about 30 miles west of Philadelphia, at around 8:50 a.m. Thursday, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said 

Police also received a report of an attempted burglary at 11:30 p.m. in nearby Pocopson Township, the DA’s Facebook post says. 

Danelo Cavalcante, an escaped murderer, is believed to be within a two-mile radius of the Pennsylvania state prison he broke out of. 

Danelo Cavalcante is also wanted for murder in his native Brazil.

Earlier Saturday, the search area was closed off in all directions, with all adjoining roads off-limits to traffic. At least three helicopters hovered overhead.

There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to his capture, Ryan's office said.
