Who Needs a Visa for Singapore?

The Singapore tourist visa for Assessment Level II countries

Countries included in  Assessment Level II must be granted a paper tourist visa before they can travel to Singapore. Here is a list of Countries of Assessment Level II:

Travel to Singapore without a visa for 90 days

Depending on the country that issued the passport, foreigners can spend a certain amount of time in Singapore without a visa.

The passport holder of the following countries can stay in Singapore for up to 90 days without a visa. SG Arrival Cards are required for all nationalities traveling to Singapore for less than 90 days:

Those who have British passports must have the right to abode in the United Kingdom. If that is not the case, they can only stay in Singapore for 30 days without a visa.

Visit Singapore without a visa for 30 days

Visa-free entry to Singapore is available to those who do not belong to the following groups:

  • Citizens of Assessment Level I Countries.
  • Citizens of Assessment Level II countries.
  • Holders of the passports highlighted above (as they can stay for up to 90 days)

Long-term visas for Singapore

Every year, a large number of foreign nationals decide to move to Singapore or stay there for an extended period of time. Those who choose Singapore as a place to work or study are an example of that.

There is a longer processing time and more documentation required for long-term visas than for Singapore tourist visas. Before traveling, all applicants must request an SG Arrival Card separately, regardless of their visa eligibility.
